A specific optional tours programme has been taylor-made for regularly registered participants and accompanying persons.These visits will be an excellent opportunity to discover some of the most outstanding artistic and historic highlights of Marseille.

PANORAMIC TOUR OF MARSEILLE

Departing from the Vieux Port, historic heart of the city, tour along the Quai du Port to reach the new port of La Joliette set up since the 19th century. Through the Old City, the Panier district, then to the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde (inside visit).
Your tour continues along the coastline over the Cornice Kennedy with its splendid villas until the Parc Balnéaire du Prado, view over the Frioul archipelago and Château d’If. Following the visit along the avenue du Prado, la Canebière. Pictures stop at the Palais Longchamp.

THE OLD MARSEILLE AND THE PANIER

Located between the city hall and the Port of la Joliette, Le Panier district is the oldest area of France. Walk up the passageways, the narrow cobble stone streets lined with coloured small houses in which used to live the fishermen, craftsmen and foreigners.
On top of Le Panier, pop in into the Vieille Charité; former orphan-age transformed today into a museum. This beautiful building was saved thanks to the world-known architect Le Corbusier.
